Band to Watch: Westward the Tide

They're the #1 selling show in the Utah region, playing alongside The National Parks and Brumby. If you haven't heard of them yet, you certainly will soon. Westward the Tide could be The Head and the Heart's baby sister, having formed less than three years ago but gaining respect in the arid southwest and earning the title Band of the Year from Salt Lake City in 2015. And if you go to one of their high energy shows, you'd understand why.

Fans of THATH, the Oh Hellos, and that indie-folk-rock-lyricist-acoustic genre that just can't be defined by limited terms, pay heed. Westward's three part harmonies and lyrics that can only be described as real will pull you in again and again.

Led by husband and wife, Jackson and Megan Larsen, and joined by their group of absurdly talented and musically gifted friends, these guys just work. They make sense. That metropolitan, rocking western vibe is strong with Westward. Since being featured on Mad Men with their single--wait for it--Mad Men, Westward has picked up speed. Check out their track Out of My Head for their strongest sing-a-long anthem, On the Run for good wailing fun, and This Heart I Know for one of those rare songs that just fits any occasion.

Sure to gain attention with their 2016 East Coast tour pending, hop on this bandwagon and get ready for their journey.
