CATHOLIC LIVE WEDDING PAINTING

An heirloom painting of the most sacred day of your life

AN HEIRLOOM GIFT FOR

GENERATIONS OF CATHOLICS.

Hi! We’re Carolyn and Peter Ferguson, and we want to paint a portrait of you on the most sacred day of your life.

As practicing Catholics, we firmly believe that the Sacrament of Marriage is one of the most beautiful gifts from the Lord—and we want to memorialize that beauty for you in a special way.

We offer a custom portrait of your wedding day that that doubles as a timeless heirloom and a unique form of entertainment for your guests.

A couple sharing a kiss at their wedding outdoors, with the bride holding a bouquet of white and purple flowers
A smiling young man and woman walking together through a field of tall grass during daytime, enjoying each other's company.
A group of people gathered around a man in a beanie and glasses, who is sitting and painting on a canvas. The setting appears to be a barn or rustic venue with string lights hanging from the ceiling, and everyone looks engaged and happy.

WHAT WE DO

Live wedding painters are becoming one of the most sought-after features at weddings—but rarely can you find a Catholic painter, let alone a husband & wife duo!

Peter sets up his easel on-site and will paint in real time, capturing a meaningful moment from the ceremony (we highly recommend the Exchange of Vows). The finished painting becomes a cherished, one-of-a-kind keepsake.

What’s more is that it’s not just an original portrait from one of the most important days of your life—the process itself is part of the entertainment! Guests LOVE watching the artwork take shape throughout the evening, and the presence of a live painter adds a touch of elegance and creativity to the celebration.

It’s art, storytelling, and memory-making all in one beautiful brushstroke.

FAQs

  • We’re up front about our prices. For the rest of 2025, if you book with us we are asking $1,200 for a 16×20” acrylic canvas painting that we will hand-off at the end of the night! From my research, the AVERAGE cost of a live wedding painter starts at $2,000 and goes up to $6,000.

Our one stipulation is if you are three hours outside of the Frederick, Maryland area, our prices will increase to around $2,000 depending on when and where your wedding is. Please contact us if you’re international for a special quote!

  • YES! We LOVE to travel. Our price is currently around $2,000 for weddings located outside of a three hour radius of Frederick, MD.

  • Don’t worry! We offer a HALF OFF deal for a 16x20” canvas portrait at $750 that Peter will complete in just one day, making it a quick turn around! For this, just send us the photo from your wedding that you would like us to paint!

This also makes a great anniversary gift!

  • At this time, we’re keeping things simple. You will receive a 16x20” acrylic painting on a stretched canvas at the end of the night. (This is the standard for most live wedding painters).

  • Peter has this down to a science, so we feel confidant about offering you the portrait by the end of the night—BUT we will always work to please you and can add in a few hours after the event at our home studio if need be! As for liking the portrait, I don’t think you have to worry about that, but rest assured we’ll do our best to satisfy you! Carolyn firmly believes in the phrase, “Happy wife, happy life” ;)

We’ll make sure to chat beforehand about what in particular you dream this portrait will be when it is complete.

  • We’re a Catholic couple that want to use our unique gifts to honor the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony. We will also be using a portion of this income to save for adoption after three years of fertility issues and four babies in heaven.

  • Peter paints, Carolyn chats lol.

Peter will do what he does best—he started to paint at a young age and professionally studied classical painting at the Maryland Institute of Art in Baltimore, Maryland. He is currently a full time illustrator, animator and Art Director at a local media company, but painting is his greatest gift.

Carolyn is gifted at organization, administrative work, marketing, and will be the one interfacing with the bride ahead of time. We’ll both be at your wedding since we provide support to one another, and Carolyn is great at providing some insight and art direction to Peter.

  • Yay! If you’re ready to book or if you have questions, email Carolyn at hello@theycw.com and Carolyn will set up a time to chat on zoom—or fill out the form below! We’re excited to meet you and chat about your fiance, upcoming wedding, and a few months before your Big Day we’ll reach out and ask you about your wedding flowers, color scheme, and your preferred composition, etc. <3
